Not quite oval, the subtle contours of the sensuous, organic form were inspired by nature's own creation of sand dunes and those voluptuous mounds that arise in the desert. Adding definition and visual interest to the individual pieces is relief detailing of wavy striping.

The Giotto design evokes the naturalistic quality of early Italian Renaissance paintings.
