Dhara is inspired by the side designs of a poetry manuscript from Saadi. It was painted by Mir-Imad in 1609. Each color is separated from each other by a thin black line just like they do with traditional rugs from India and Middle-East.

By interpreting plant forms in cast metal, Michael Aram presents work which is evocative of a natural environment transformed and redefined. Says the designer, There is a velvety luxury–an almost gothic quality – to representing orchids in blackened nickel. To me, the pieces feel seductive and graceful, yet dark and unexpected.
