First, the rims are cut by hand, so that no two pieces are exactly alike. Second, the wares are glazed by hand and fired to nearly 2200 degrees F., 22-karat gold or platinum is hand painted on each piece and fired in a kiln one more time, resulting in a finish that is dishwasher-safe.
