Michael Wainwright has created elegant porcelain since 1991. Each piece is made of porcelain and fired in a kiln at least three times. First, the rims are cut by hand, so that no two pieces are exactly alike. Second, the wares are glazed by hand and fired to nearly 2200 degrees F., 22-karat gold or platinum is hand painted on each piece and fired in a kiln one more time, resulting in a finish that is dishwasher-safe.

Inspired by the beauty of the marine environment, this mirrored seafood platter evokes the gentle curve of a shell and has nickel plate coral handles. It rests on a blackened iron base and legs.
